LOCATION
UNIVERSITY of OREGON:
NEW RESIDENCE HALL PROGRAMMING and CONCEPT DESIGN

ORIENTATION
The Residence Hall is composed primarily of spacious, well-lit double and single rooms. All rooms provide for either private or shared sleeping areas, study spaces designed to accommodate computer work stations, desk space, shelves and generous storage for clothes and other items. Each room has an open edge with views and plenty of daylight as well as operable windows for ventilation. A number of accessible rooms and bathing facilities are available, and both double and single rooms are easily adaptable for accessibility and the needs of the hearing impaired. Toilet and bathing facilities are sized and distributed to serve an average of 25 students each.

ORGANIZATION
Good acoustical separation between sleep/study areas and gathering spaces is a very important consideration. Additional levels of separation are provided in and around the living rooms, other shared areas, and the restroom cores.
