LOCATION
DELEWARE VALLEY MENTAL HEALTH FOUNDATION
The housing units are grouped together along the edges of the site within a strong boundary of trees to give a sense of domain and shade to the dwellings and to preserve a large interior open field as the “Community Green.” This common ground along with a proposed community building fosters the interaction of the various units and the members of the total community.

ORIENTATION
In-patients live in homes staffed by couples who are trained in psychology or social work; together they form a family. The proposed unit consists of a large Family Room containing the kitchen, dining, and living area where patients participate in all facets of family life including shared work responsibilities and leisure activities, and private bedrooms for both staff and patients. The dwelling opens to the site on four sides, offering a variety of ways of using the adjacent grounds.
