DOWNTOWN ATHLETIC CLUB
The Downtown Athletic Club is an intensely active facility located in downtown Eugene at Tenth Avenue and Willamette Street . Our work at the club began in 1990, four years after another firm completed the initial athletic club renovation of the historic Axe Billy Department Store building. The new club was unique in the city and the athletic facilities were successful, but it was clear that its public and social amenities including the entry, circulation, and restaurants, were inadequate and poorly planned. We have worked to improve the club’s general quality and organization by remodeling many of the existing facilities and completing major expansions to nearby buildings. Our services have embraced all aspects of the club, including major architectural design and planning, interiors and furnishings. We have also consulted on building operations and maintenance.
